1510 AD LEONARDO DA VINCI SELF PORTRAIT
Portrait of a Man in Red Chalk, the red-chalk drawing widely, though not universally, identified as a self-portrait of Leonardo da Vinci. Scholars have argued for dates anywhere from about 1510 to 1518, and some, noting the sitter looks older than Leonardo would have been, have proposed it instead depicts his father Piero or his uncle Francesco. It is held today at the Biblioteca Reale in Turin.
